O God, who didst choose blessed Joachim, before all thy Saints, to be the father of her who bore thy Son: grant, we beseech thee, that as we hold his festival in honour, so we may ever experience his protection. Through the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, liveth and reigneth God, world without end.
