Proper of the feast
From the Common of a Bishop and Martyr. As said in its commemoration on Tuesday, October 26, 2027.
At I Vespers · Antiphon Common
This is a Martyr * who strove for his Master’s precepts, even unto death: and feared not the words of evil men, forasmuch as he was stablished on a sure foundation.
Versicle at I Vespers Common
℣.Thou hast crowned him with glory and honour, O Lord.
℟.And madest him to have dominion of the works of thy hands.
At Lauds · Antiphon Common
He that hateth his life * in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
Versicle at Lauds Common
℣.The righteous shall flourish like a palm-tree.
℟.And shall spread abroad like a cedar in Libanus.
Collect Common
Almighty God, mercifully look upon our infirmity: and because we are oppressed by the burden of our own deeds, may the glorious intercession of blessed Evaristus, thy Martyr and Bishop, defend us. Through thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, liveth and reigneth God, world without end.
℟.Amen.
