We beseech thee, O Lord, that the reverend festival of holy John Baptist thy Forerunner and Martyr: may bring upon us the benefit of thy saving help. Through thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, liveth and reigneth God, world without end.
